Guy Novak, Sr Principal Program Cost and Schedule Control Analyst and EVM/Agile trainer, delivers a practical tour of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)—what it’s for, how it ties scope to time, and why the Critical Path (CP) is the backbone of reliable metrics and forecasts. You’ll learn what the IMS uniquely provides—an integrated, time-phased network linking scope, logic, and resources to support credible forecasting and what-if analysis—and how to read it for decision value while balancing cost and schedule views. Guy will demonstrate a dynamic CP, seeing how status, logic changes, and risk treatments can shift the driving path while monitoring and reporting CP health. You will learn to spot when a CAM is popular for the wrong reasons (green charts driven by soft logic, hidden lags, and back-loading), manage schedule margin as the schedule counterpart to EAC by planning, protecting, and tracking margin burn, and decide, as a PM, when it tells the story and when the CP does to align cost and schedule metrics when it looks fine but the CP is slipping.
